Four Balfour yearbooks were named Pacemaker finalists April 23 by the Associated Collegiate Press. One of the oldest awards in collegiate journalism, the ACP Pacemaker honors the best college newspapers, yearbooks and magazines in the country.

“These yearbooks deliver engaging verbal and visual stories, showcasing superior photojournalism, writing and design,” said Gary Lundgren, associate director and coordinator of the Pacemaker competitions. “These yearbooks cover universities with 6,000 to 63,000 students, and the spirit and diversity of those collegiate communities come alive on their pages.”

Four of the seven finalists are Balfour yearbooks. They include Baylor University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University and the University of Miami.

All four schools have a rich tradition of yearbook excellence. This is the University of Miami’s seventh consecutive Pacemaker nomination and Texas Tech’s sixth year in a row to be a finalist. Baylor has been a Pacemaker finalist three of the last four years and Texas A&M has been a finalist four times in the last six years.

All seven yearbooks will be honored and the Pacemaker winners announced at the ACP/CMA National College Media Convention on Oct. 31-Nov 3, 2019 in Washington D.C.
