To the advisers who are creating this year’s yearbooks, we salute you. At Balfour, we know what goes into creating great yearbooks. Advisers and students attend countless school events and take thousands of photos. They design every detail on every page; evaluate, carefully select, and edit every photo. They interview dozens of students and teachers to tell the stories of this year. They write, rewrite, edit and polish until the writing is clear, concise, and compelling.
We are so proud of these publications and the people at our schools who create them. And we are proud to play a part in helping you create books to preserve the memories of this year.
President Ronald Reagan declared the first week in October to be National Yearbook Week in 1987. This week we celebrate the creativity, dedication, and hard work of yearbook staffs across the country. To mark this special week and recognize your sales efforts, we’re hosting some exciting contests.
CONTESTS:
- LIGHTS, PHONE CAMERA, ACTION! DAY – Create a fun Reel showcasing your yearbook staff in action, whether it’s team-building, designing, or photographing. Get creative and capture the spirit of your yearbook crew!
- PRO AT YEARBOOK MARKETING DAY – Share how your staff is ramping up sales. Take photos of yearbook students with yearbook sales posters or bulletin boards. Snap a photo of a student buying a book on campus. We want to see your marketing magic!
- WORLD SMILE DAY – Snap a group selfie with your yearbook staff showing off your biggest smiles and tag us! Props add fun to group photos – hand everyone a camera, a past yearbook, or a report’s notebook and pen. (Remember, the more fun and lively, the better—no dull selfies allowed!)
To honor our staff, we’ll be awarding two $50 gift cards to the best entries in each contest.
