Congratulations to three photographers from Balfour schools for being named 2020 Photo of the Year finalists from the National Scholastic Press Association. NSPA recently announced the 10 finalists in five categories: News Photo, Feature Photo, Sports Game/Action Photo, Sports Feature Photo and Environmental Portrait.
The winners will be announced during an awards ceremony for the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention, presented virtually 1 p.m. CST, Saturday, Nov. 21.

In addition to the yearbook photographer finalists, two of our Balfour schools’ sister publications have photo finalists. McCallum High School’s newspaper The Shield has three photographers nominated in three categories while Westwood’s online publication has a finalist in the sports feature photo category.
