The National Scholastic Press Association honored four Balfour schools as 2019 NSPA Pacemaker Winners, Friday, April 17, 2020.
The announcement was made via live video and Twitter as the annual JEA/NSPA High School Journalism Convention was canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Entries were judged by a team of advisers, selecting yearbooks that showcased exceptional coverage, writing, design, photography and graphics. The awards are for the 2019 yearbooks.
All finalists were honored at the start of the online ceremony with the winners announced later during the awards. Balfour had 12 schools, 11 high schools and one middle school named Pacemaker Finalists in December.
All finalists and winners will receive their plaques in the mail.
